We recently completed a Building Management System (BMS) installation for a new medical centre currently under construction on Garrett Lane in Wandsworth. The project included the installation of two new air handling units (AHUs) located four floors up on the roof, as well as the development of a new plant room on the ground floor, where the main control panel is housed.
A complete primary and secondary containment system was installed, running from the ground floor up to the rooftop — with cable runs exceeding 90 meters in length. Additionally, we installed all power supplies within the plant room, along with two 50kW heater battery supplies routed to the rooftop to support the AHUs.
The project was completed successfully, despite two significant challenges. The first was the tight deadline, which we managed by bringing in additional engineers to ensure all work was completed on time. The second challenge involved routing our cabling through the risers. With the AHU ductwork and other building services also occupying the risers, there was considerably less space available than initially anticipated. To overcome this, we extended the cable route to a secondary riser and implemented a double-stacked containment system, which effectively reduced our overall footprint within the limited space
The client on site did recognise the extra effort and did report back how happy he was with the conduct and quality of the workmanship throughout the project by our team which is all I need to hear and the most important feedback.

90 metres of Separate Primary and secondary containment from ground floor to the roof for the power supplies and BMS (ELV) cabling.
Power supplies run in armoured cable to the roof plant room and reception area with local rotary isolators at each location.
